Sofigate Denmark wins Børsen Gazelle for outstanding growth
Sofigate Denmark has been recognised with the Børsen Gazelle 2025 award, one of Denmark’s most respected acknowledgements for business growth.
The Børsen Gazelle award is granted solely on data and financial results: companies must demonstrate four consecutive years of positive growth and at least double their turnover or gross profit during that period.
Sofigate Denmark has far exceeded the required criteria.
“We’ve increased our gross profit 7-fold over four years and grown more than 90% each year,” says Michael Koch, Country Manager of Sofigate Denmark.
“For us, the award is a great honour and a major achievement, as fewer than one per cent of Danish companies receive it. It’s a statement of what the team has built together.”

Growth built on people and collaboration
Sofigate’s business unit in Denmark forms one joint organisation with Southern Sweden, spanning both regions and operating as one cohesive team. Over the past four years, it has grown from a team of six to a group of thirty.
“We now have over 15 nationalities and backgrounds, half of our staff and leadership is female, and our blend of experiences and skills is very diverse. We always put people first, and that’s a big strength of ours,” Michael says.
According to Michael, another key to success has been the Nordic customer-centric organisational structure introduced in 2022.
“We started to use the whole group’s resources with a project mindset,” he says.
“We build international teams with colleagues from Finland, Hungary, Norway and Sweden, staffing projects based on who has the best skills. Combining Platform and Transformation on big projects has been key to our success.”

CEO Karkkila: Proof that the right culture scales
The Sourthern Sweden and Denmark business offers both Platform Services, led by Michael Koch, and Transformation Services, led by his colleague Berit Dommerby Clausager. Many clients are global companies across banking, manufacturing, and other international industries. Over the past four years, the team hasn’t lost a single client.
“Sometimes projects pause for a while, but clients come back. That tells us they see the value we bring,” Michael says.
Sami Karkkila, CEO of Sofigate, acknowledges the Gazelle award as a great acknowledgement of the exceptional work done by the Southern Sweden and Denmark team.
“They have shown that growth and culture are not opposites. When you build the right environment, performance follows. Berit and Michael and their team have built something special together, and this recognition is a proud moment for all of Sofigate,” he says.
