Sofigate expands into Sweden

Finnish ICT management and development specialist Sofigate is opening a branch in Sweden. Stockholm-based Sofigate AB will act as a stepping stone for further expansion in the Nordics.

”Expanding our operations into Sweden and other Nordic countries is a logical step for us. Companies in these countries are comfortable with utilizing specialist services as part of their own operations”, states Sami Karkkila, CEO of Sofigate Oy.

Jessica Borgudd will join Sofigate AB as Sales Director. For the past 10 years she has been working for the market intelligence firm IDC in various roles, including Sales Director in the Nordics and in the Benelux countries. Before her time with IDC, Borgudd worked for the research and consultancy company Ovum.

“Jessica Borgudd’s track record in the international specialist services business is impressive. She has extensive experience and a wide network of contacts”, Sami Karkkila comments.

“I have been following the Nordic ICT market closely for over a decade now. There is a huge amount of demand for Sofigate’s services throughout the Nordics, and the threshold for utilizing external specialist services is much lower in the other Nordic countries than it is in Finland”, Jessica Borgudd believes.

Sofigate is looking to recruit a number of staff in Sweden this year and the company strives to develop its Nordic competence center so that services can also be produced locally.

Opening a subsidiary in Sweden is a key step in achieving Sofigate’s growth targets. Sofigate aims to grow its annual turnover to 100 million euro and its staff into 750 employees by the year 2020. The company will be recruiting 50 new employees in Finland this year.

In conjunction with opening a subsidiary in Sweden, Sofigate has also reworked its service model to better support further growth and international expansion.
