“Business is all about building relationships” — How Kim Nordquelle plans to grow Sofigate into a major player in Norway

Kim Nordquelle, Sofigate’s new Country Manager in Norway, believes that combining a human-centric approach with technology is the key to success.

Kim Nordquelle likes to build things. In his spare time, he works with wood in his workshop, crafting bookshelves and other furniture.

Now, he has a much bigger project in mind. As Sofigate’s new Country Manager in Norway, Kim is focused on strengthening the company’s presence in the Norwegian market and building the company into a leading ServiceNow consultancy. He’ll be working closely with another recent appointment, Norway’s new Chief Technology Officer, Markus Labråten.

“I think it’s a challenging goal, but definitely a realistic one. And I believe we’re going to succeed,” Kim says with a smile.

“There’s a lot of room for us to grow in Norway. To be honest, I hadn’t even heard of the company before this opportunity came up. But once I learned more, I was really impressed by our track record in the Nordics — and completely blown away by the quality of service the company delivers. I’m confident our future clients in Norway will feel the same.”

A long-term partner for clients

Kim has a background in marketing and brings 25 years of experience from various leadership roles in the IT industry and consulting. He believes his expertise in sales, business development, and people leadership gives him a solid foundation to drive Sofigate’s growth, especially combined with Markus Labråten’s technical skills.

At the same time, Kim says Sofigate’s approach to technology, people, and business truly sets it apart from other companies in Norway.

“I don’t really see myself as a tech guy. I’m more of a people person, a relationship builder,” Kim says. “But then again, I don’t see us as just a technology company either. Our job is to help our clients grow their businesses — and that’s just as much about people as it is about technology.”

That doesn’t mean technology isn’t important. Quite the opposite.“

AI will undoubtedly transform how every company operates. But that’s exactly why we also need to focus on people, culture, and relationships, both locally and internationally. With technology evolving so fast, our clients need a partner who is stable, reliable, and committed for the long run.”

Living the values

Kim says the recruitment process at Sofigate stood out from any he’s experienced before. It wasn’t just about whether he was the right person for the role — it was equally about whether Sofigate was the right company for him.

It turned out to be a perfect match. For Kim, joining a company with a strong Nordic culture and clear values was essential.

“It was about values: daring, caring, and growing.”

According to Kim, those values aren’t just empty words on a website. They really shape how people here work every day. He points to the Business Technology Standard as a great example.

“I know many companies have downloaded it and use it actively — even when they work with other technology partners. That says a lot. It shows that we genuinely care about sharing our knowledge and helping others, not just about sending the next invoice.”

Kim pauses, grins, and adds with a laugh — the builder and the salesman in him both shining through.

“Of course, we’d love to turn those companies into paying clients eventually. At the end of the day, business is about building relationships. People still buy from people, you know.”

With over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, Kim Nordquelle has worked with a wide range of companies. In his most recent role, he served as Country Manager for an IT distribution company, representing major brands such as IBM, Toshiba, and Nokia.

As the Country Manager for Norway, Kim aims to strengthen Sofigate’s position as a trusted advisor for ServiceNow platform initiatives while fostering strong relationships with existing customers.
