Sofigate acquires Headstart to become a forerunner in Cloud Business Solutions for midmarket companies in the Nordics
Sofigate has conducted several business acquisitions in the Nordics within the last two years. Now Sofigate is acquiring Headstart, an innovative Finnish company specializing in cloud-based ERP and business solutions. With the acquisition, Sofigate is aiming at becoming a forerunner in Cloud Business Solutions provider in the Nordics.
After the acquisitions of the Swedish companies Daymark and 3gamma, Sofigate became the leading IT management company in the Nordics. The newest acquisition Headstart will complement Sofigate’s Technology Solutions offerings with business solution and SAP consulting, development and services – and accelerate the company’s growth to new business areas.

Headstart, founded in 2005, is known for its agile approach as cloud-based business solution provider. By providing cloud-based solutions, the company has been able to cut the time and costs of ERP projects to a fraction. In 2017, the company’s ERP implementation for HMD Global won the Business Transformation category of SAP Quality Awards in the Nordics.

Clever acquisitions integral part of growth strategy
After the acquisition of Headstart, Sofigate will have 500 employees in Finland, Sweden, Denmark and the UK. The company’s pro forma turnover will rise to 76 million euros. Sofigate’s aim is to become a 150 to 200 million-euro turnover company with more than 1000 employees by 2020.
According to Sami Karkkila, clever right-timed business acquisitions are an integral part of the company’s growth strategy.
